8/26/2023 0 Comments Ephemeral fantasia howlongtobeat![]() SMT4, Etrian Odyssey, Persona 4, TMS #FE, Soul Hackers. Oh, and you can blindly buy every RPG developed by Atlus. I'm particularly fond of the first one and its nice horror atmosphere which is really unusual in JRPGs. Now his dreams must restore the notes so the music again can play. Last Story is an unconventional RPG that I didn't like very much, but that tries a bunch of interesting things.Īlso, listen to the people who recommend the Shadow Hearts series. While the Apprentice Sorcerer slept his masters music was stolen away. Lost Odyssey is nice as well, but suffers from long load times. Resonance of Fate, maybe? Not really a great story, but it has a cool setting and interesting gameplay. Surprisingly good story and a great time travel system make for one of the best RPGs of the last generation.Īnd then. Accepting that Mouse and Loreille instantly fall for each other is extremely difficult, and most of the characters who join have astonishingly little to say about their predicament until select scenes are triggered. If DS is okay, look into Radiant Historia. Absent the horrid pacing, Ephemeral Fantasia ‘s narrative manages glimmers of interest. Its mechanics are more refined, but I think the characters a small step down from the Sky series. If you rather want something more recent, Trails of Cold Steel released last year for Vita. It also ends in one hell of a cliffhanger, so you'll want to get Trails in the Sky SC (Second Chapter) as well. However, it's a bit slow and it takes a while before it really gets going. Trails in the Sky (preferably PC, but it's available on PSP/Vita as well) is a great RPG with a great set of characters, a nice story and a wonderfully detailed world. Plus finding those game are sometimes a pain I just don't wanna have to dig out the system and figure out a way to hook it up to my monitor. I cant get into those anymore.ĮDIT - I'm not against ps2 era RPGs. Whether you love or hate the game's clichs and shortcomings, Ephemeral Fantasia is nothing more than average when compared with the majority of other RPGs. No FF tactics like, position based system. Mixed or average reviews based on 42 Ratings. Id prefer a turn based system and honestly dont want to go before the ps3/360 generation. Ive played almost every mainline JRPG so I want to avoid: I have every system but the 3DS (lent it to a friend). Two things are a must: A good battle system, decent story (perfer great but its ok). What Im really looking for is a solid and obscure Jrpg to get into. The next game on my must play list is Forza Horizon 3 which isnt till the end of september. Im in the i have nothing to play phase despite that not really being the problem. Since theres a bit of a gaming drought going on these days.
